Business opportunities and ideas often present themselves when least expected. Today I tuned into Jeopardy, as I am a regular viewer to the quiz show. Some day I would love to replace the Legendary Alex Trebek as the host of the popular television show. However, in the meantime I better hang on to my day job. As I logged into the Live Rural NL blog to scribe an article the background noise of the TV managed to catch my attention. The person said, “host a party, save money and make your own bath jellies”. I guess the combination of the words party and saving money were attractive, but moreover, I was curious as to what in the world was a bath jelly?
I watched the guest make the product out of simple household products and ones favorite body wash. They noted that this product was used in the shower and would not slip out of the hand. It can also have a unique design by using a mold of a cookie cutter. This was fascinating! I opted to check out YouTube for a good video. Sure enough, I was able to find how to make the product and get a recipe list through a quick Google search. I often wonder what I did BG (Before Google)?
Below is a video found on YouTube:
I found an article entitled, “Easter Craft – Soap Jelly” posted by a fellow blogger. Details can be found at Wilava Workshop – http://wilava.blogspot.com/2010/03/easter-craft-soap-jelly.html
This appears to be a fun home-based business. One that has potential to expand into different shapes, sizes, packages and product lines. The market for bath and beauty products is quite large. There are opportunities and outlets to sell this product to locals and travelers in Rural NL. In fact I would purchase the product out of curiosity. If there is someone that decides to make this product, let me know.
