Ferry Watching at Deep Cove Trail Extension

Deep Cove is a National Heritage Site, which served as a winter housing area for residents of Anchor Point. The Straits Development Association has been preserving the heritage and developing the area. A boardwalk trail takes you around a loop of miniatures that depict former homes and buildings, as well as panels and displays of life in rural NL during this era. In recent years, a new trail was developed to the beach and a gazebo was built.

It’s a beautiful walk through the forest to the gazebo where you can enjoy ferry watching. The Strait of Belle Isle ferry crosses from St. Barbe and is your connection to Labrador via Blanc Sablon, QC.

Deep Cove is a favourite trail of many locals but also visitors. Especially those who are en route to or from the ferry. Adventure awaits on the Great Northern Peninsula. Experience a piece of unique history at Deep Cove near Anchor Point.
