The Camel’s Back Trail off Dark Tickle Road in Town of St Lunaire-Griquet will not disappoint. The spectacular scenery is just breathtaking. Take time to experience this place just for yourself. As the sign says, you can view whales and even icebergs from here and my visit last June certainly didn’t disappoint.
The trail is a moderate 2 km return walking trail that does have some sections that involve incline.
Along the route there are benches and picnic tables for you to rest and enjoy the views. There are panoramic opportunities at the top of the islands and surrounding coastlines and the community of St. Lunaire-Griquet.
The topography features of the land is likely where the Camel’s Back got its name.
While in St. Lunaire-Griquet take some time to experience a number of trails, that include St. Brendan’s Rock Trail, Dog Head Trail, Gunner’s Cove to Fortune, Aunt Bride’s Lookout, Viking Ski Club Trails and Gull Pond Municipal Park.
St. Lunaire-Griquet is the Gateway to Vinland!
