A sign at the entry warns this is avalanche territory. The distant hills certainly are towering and dramatic. A little further down the road is the Cape Blow Me Down Trail that takes you to these high peaks. This Walking Trail is one where you see a variety of trees and nature, a waterfall and the highlight is the swimming hole and lounging area at the end. It was a very popular place when we had dropped by as the temperatures where quite warm.
There were many unique photos along this route near Humber Arm South which is about 3.5 KM return. As you walk and see the brownish tan rounded rocks, the mix of trees, mountains and surroundings, for a moment you feel like you are totally in a different place.
The beauty that exists in the Bay of Islands is well worth sharing, as it will not disappoint and is full of hidden gems.
