Berry Head Pond Trail is directly on Route 430 north of Rocky Harbour and has a dedicated parking lot that marks the beginning of the 1.8 KM trail. A quick 30 minutes around the boardwalk. You may take longer if you wish to stop at the viewing areas or stop for a snack at the picnic table to replenish but also enjoy the amazing view.
You get a great view of the Long Range Mountains, Berry Hill, forests and boggy lowlands. The pond is enjoyable and after completing Berry Hill, you already have that bird’s eye view.
It’s a great way to stretch your legs while travelling the Viking Trail highway (Route 430). Get out and explore all Gros Morne and the Great Northern Peninsula has to offer.
