This is one of the most challenging hiking trails in the Outer Bay of Islands that is rated as extreme. We opted to save this one for another trip as the weather conditions were quite warm and we really wanted to enjoy the Little Port Head Lighthouse. There is also the option for a loop via the Cedar Cove Trail to the lighthouse.
It’s a 3 km trail that takes you into Little Port Head up 250 metres in elevation to what I’m told is some of the most spectacular scenery in Atlantic Canada.
We walked to the beach as part of this trail and enjoyed the scenery.
Just take a seat and enjoy the view. If you are up for a nice challenge, enjoy the trail to the lighthouse. It’s still on my to do list!
