Winterton is famous for their Wooden Boat Museum. You can speak with Master Boat Builder Jerome Canning in the workshop and enjoy our rich history surrounding boats in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Another popular location in the community is the Outside Pond Park and Walking Trail.
The 1.9 KM loop trail is an easy walking trail through a forested area and pond side views. There is rest places and also painted bird houses along the route. I was walking the trail around Easter and there were hand painted rocks left along the pathway.
The Winterton Outside Pond is a place to enjoy. A recent addition means one can walk to a lookout with gazebo for an additional 500 metres each way.
