Does Anyone Know the Story behind this Snowmobile?

A miniature replica of an old snowmobile was displayed on the yard in the Town of St. Lunaire-Griquet while I was searching for the Petermann Ice Island! I passed by this item, but was told to take a snap.

Does anyone know the history behind this piece of art?

  1. This replica is owned and crafted by Uncle Dick Saunders of St. Lunaire. Uncle Dick as owned and operated a snowmobile for years and it was always a spectacle around town. This miniature as I was told was made by him to be towed behind his snowmobile. Hope this helps.

  2. Thank you reader for the comment. It certainly helps to know more of the story. Uncle Dick Saunders certainly had a great talent! It just goes to show the ingenuity of Rural Newfoundlanders & Labradorians. I am glad it is still being shared for those who wish to catch a glimpse. Imagine the Winter Tourism opportunities with this type of miniature!
