A light sandy beach at Shallow Bay, Cow Head creates a serene feeling as you push your toes along the beach. The campground and beach is quite popular but a hidden gem to many.
The Old Mail Road Trail is representative of old roads and pathways which the mail ran along the coast in the early days by foot, by horse and cart, dog team and later more modern vehicle. This less than 3 KM return linear trail is a nice walk through the forest that leads to the beach. One can also return via the beach.
This is a very easy trail and is good for all ages. There’s a playground before you get to the beach at Shallow Bay Campground as well. Much to see, do and enjoy when in beautiful Cow Head, NL.
