Coastal Trail – A Trek Back More Than Two Thousand Years

Limestone Barrens on Coastal Trail

The Coastal Trail offers views of a tuckamore forest, ocean views where one can view small fishing boats and whales en route to Phillip’s Garden.

Parks Canada has added pieces of artwork, there are chairs to rest and enjoy the view and at the beginning of this trail is a parking lot, privy, and picnic area.

It will only take about 15-20 minutes to find your way to Phillip’s Garden (1 KM). It may take a little longer if you wish to sit and enjoy the view and take in the scenery that surrounds you.

You can continue past Phillip’s Garden to head to the Visitor Centre via Dorset Trail or Point Riche Lighthouse via the Point Riche Trail.

I highly recommend spending some time in Port au Choix when visiting the Great Northern Peninsula.
