The Goat Shore begins at the end of Ballfield Road and is 6.1 KM return in the Town of Harbour Main-Chapel’s Cove -Lakeview. The parking area is shared with the Harbour Main Lighthouse trail as well.
The beginning begins walking down a field and getting beautiful shoreline views. Conception Harbour, Bacon Cove and Kitchuses is across the way. You will enter some forested areas and then come to a beach. Spend some time checking out the beach and enjoying. It looks like the locals spend some time in the area beach combing.
There are many rounded and many colourful rocks scattered along the beach. The trail then follows a wooded trail and comes out to some homes on cemetery road. I’m told you can basically create a loop by taking the road for a bit and end up back at Ballfield road or return by how you came.
I enjoyed the walk and the views. If you wish to capture these views and experiences, than you’ll want to hike the Goat Shore too!
