Take a Walk on the Placentia Boardwalk…

The iconic Placentia lift bridge was recently replaced and has become part of the fabric of the community. The community though dates back several hundred years and is rooted in Basque, French, English, Irish and American culture.

Castle Hill is a Parks Canada site with a commanding view of Placentia and surrounding coastline. This fortification offers a unique national historic site experience. Another way to experience the community is to take a walk along the boardwalk and also through the community to see major sites and attractions from the French Bread Oven, community museum, cultural centre, cathedral and town square.

The unique vernacular architecture of homes and buildings certainly make for an intriguing walk. The day was completely calm and reflections could be seen everywhere from the Golden Joy to the Three Sisters Pub.

Add Placentia to your visiting list this year!
